29 Echo Road
Committee Comments (continued)
No Dumpster
Mike Mendoza noted there is no dumpster shown on the Plan. Attorney Gildea said the idea is not to
have a dumpster because someone may think there may be product in a dumpster. Jim Vaccaro said
there will be a janitorial service coming in every day and taking everything off-site. Mike Mendoza
said it just seems strange for a commercial facility not to have a dumpster and he just wants to be
sure that's not violating any State code or Board of Health regulations, etc. Attorney Gildea said he
will look into this.
Rodney Collins commented there are unique circumstances in terms of why dumpster not going there
because it behooves both the Applicant, as well as the operation of this facility, to ensure there isn't
someone going through the dumpster.
Tom Fudala said there is no requirement to have dumpster anywhere.
Signage
Only 1 external sign that is shown on Site Plan; one-sided sign; not internally lit.
Joe Cummings noted that according to By -Law there shall be no display on sign for any
advertisement for marijuana or any brand name. Company name "Medical Marijuana Treatment
Center" is on sign. Since "Marijuana" in company name, would this be non-compliant? Attorney
Gildea said signage may only identify by its registered name, but they will check with State to
determine that name on sign is in compliance.
Mike Mendoza advised that Mary Ann Romero already contacted Applicant to inform there is
possibility Applicant's engineer may have to be in contact with Charlie Rowley, Town's engineering
consultant. Attorney Gildea said he spoke with Mary Ann; and this was not done but they will do
whatever ZBA requires.
CONCLUSION
Motion: Tom Fudala motioned to recommend approval subject to:
• Adding back-up "T" at security parking area, as well as need a Variance or Waiver from the
ZBA regarding number of parking spaces;
• If queuing on Echo Road does become an issue once the facility is open that the Applicant
return to this Committee with how they would address that;
• Applicant to ensure that placing company name on sign is in compliance with State
requirements since "Marijuana" part of company name.
Scott Carline seconded the motion; and the motion was unanimously approved by Plan Review and
by Design Review.
3
