13 <br />Board of Selectmen <br />Minutes <br />December 18, 2017 <br />Public Hearing: Request for TeMporary TemporaryClosure New SeabuEy Properties, LLC d/b/a Popponesset Inn <br />President of Club Operations at New Seabury, Chris Card: (continued) <br />Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to grant the request of New Seabury Properties, LLC <br />d/b/a Popponesset Inn to close for annual deep cleaning and maintenance as referenced. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Cotton., yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Cahalane, yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes Opposed, none <br />COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br />Mashpee Water District: Response to the Request for an Environmental Oversight Committee <br />Designee: <br />Correspondence was received from Sarah Gorczyca, Board Secretary to the Mashpee Water District <br />dated November 28, 2017 indicating the Board of Water of Commissioners- has declined the <br />Selectmen's invitation to join the Environmental Oversight Committee. <br />The letter was read aloud into the record as follows; <br />The Board of Water Commissioners in response to your letter of November 7, 2017 requesting the <br />appointment of a representative from the Mashpee Water District to the Environmental Oversight <br />Committee has decided to decline the Selectmen's invitation at this time. <br />There was no explanation included in this submission. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Approval of General Contractor for Quashnet School Project: <br />Siva Sivalogan, the Owners Project Manager (OPM) was in attendance with Catherine Laurent, the <br />Director of Public Works to review the Quashnet Elementary School renovation project with the Board <br />of Selectmen. Also present was Patricia DeBoer, Superintendent of Schools and Don Myers, Chair <br />of the Mashpce School Committee. <br />It was noted that eight general bids were received for the window & door, EIFS, roof replacement and <br />accessibility upgrades project associated to the Quashnet School project. The base bids ranged from <br />$6,994,000 to $8,100,000 in the competitive bid process. <br />
