Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 1,2012 , <br /> APPOINTMENTS&HEARINGS: <br /> Plain Board—QWawa Pro <br /> Planninar Board members David Koo arlan and George Peterson discussed The <br /> Mashpee ween ay,apro*eet proposed to connect existipg and future trails and <br /> facilities to a cent park envisioned in Mashpee Commons in the vicinity of the <br /> Mashpee Public Library. <br /> The proposal to develop a central park integrates the shopping and residential <br /> areas of Mashpee Commons nth a connection of parks, walkways, fitness trails <br /> and bile paths. The area of discussion ion also incorporates the Mashpee High <br /> School and its surrounding areas which includes the Mashpee Village,the Beer <br /> Crossing complex, SouthCape Village,the Wi ndchime Point condominiums and <br /> the natural area of Trout Pond. <br /> parcel of existing green space located behind the Library is currently earmarked <br /> for the central park. Elements in the public park would include a playground, <br /> gazebo/band stand and possible splash park to be used for winter slating <br /> activities. The part, a safe place to gather would also provide an area for <br /> concerts,artisan fairs and farmers markets. <br /> The Planing Board has had ongoing discussions with the developers of Mashpee <br /> Commons to deliberate the concept of the Mashpee Greenway.
