PLANNING BOARD
`own of Mashpee
Planning Board Minutes - January 18, 1284
Gentleman from audience: Go down the street and look at what 4 f . x 4 ft
is - that' s awful small.
Earle Marsters t I ' m sure the business community wants less control but
the residential community wants more control.
Gentleman from audience I would rather take the control out of four
or five different committees and into the control of the building
inspector who is in control to start with. And down hers we have who
can revoke it and that-I' s the selectmen. So we have the Planning Board
and the Board of Appeals, the building inspector, and now the selectmen
who can revoke it. That' s everybody in town except the Health Dept, It
should be workable with the building inspector since this is his bailiwick.
Paul: I do not think there should be six or seven committees making the
decision.
Gentleman from audience In accordance with Section 6 - what does that
mean?
Earle Marsters : That is the land use regulations in the zoning by-laws.
In this district, no building structure -jor land shall be occupied except
for the purpose in the accompanying regulations. They are saying that
it has to be in accordance with the table of regulations. we are now
considering the 16 ft.
Gentleman from audience-i I would like to suggest that you consider the
IFTsq. ft, you were taping about over here for a specialized type of
business. I have to be 150 ft- from the street so I meed identification
and 16 sq. f t. is too small.
Earle Mars tees: At our last public hearing we had no representative from
the business communitys At this meeting it i almost all from the business
community. We are getting slanted comments at each meeting* Prohibitions:
10-3. 1. Comments?
Gentleman from audience I may be playing the devil' s advocate here but
suppose you have a grand opening, and you want to put some pennants p,
there is no provision for this whatsoever; you can' t even get a special
p rmi t for a grand opening on a temporary basis.
Earle Marsterst That would come under to. . 1 for temporary purposes*
If you want to allow it on a temporary basis this is where we would
do i t. 10-3. 1 would be for a permanent use. Under 10- 5. 6 it states
that sighs shall be stationery except as permitted by the Board of
Selectmen under an application citing reasons for the exception. This
would cover pennants for the opening of a condominiume
(continued on page 5)
