r
11 May 2000
Page 15.
it this way, other than costing him a lot of money, which He realizes, is not
her concern.
Ms Boretos stated it would be picking up a significant.....Mr. Brabants stated
he has 2' from the wetlands rather than the o'. If the house goes like
this.,...Nis Boretos stated he asked her a question, let her answer. fiat
would be picked up is, this is an 18' buffer in the corner of this house to the
top of this bank. If he did this, he would be gaining a o' buffer to the
structure. He would be creating that much more of a buffer for what wildlife
is utilizing this area. she stated she knows that may not seem significant.
Mr. Brabants stated he knows that is significant but His real point that after
talking to two other people on Conservation Boards in the state o
Massachusetts, they said what wildlife is the Agent trying to protect. That is
the question. He has a list from a Conservation Commission in one ofthe
towns that said is there any of this wildlife here? He said he knows there is a
lot of Piping Plovers ,.....Nis Boretos stated we are not speaking to
endangered species, we are speaking of general wildlife habitat. Mr.
rabants stated in general,, wildlife, so there is no endangered or protected
species there. Ms Boretos stated under the Wetlands Protection Act and the
Town Wetlands Bylaw there are eight interests. one of those interests is
wildlife habitat, not 'rare species, it is wildlife Habitat. It speaks to keeping
the pieces, trying to protect what wildlife is indigenous here, not those
animals that are rake or listed. That is what this lot is providing,
significant habitat for those animals that are indigenous and native to this
area, not necessarily rare or state listed.
Mr. Brabants stated he is sure you can use any let that could be found in Here
including any house He has had on the Cape, you could bring up the same
case, he never had a lot that didn't have mammals lining there.
Ms Moore stated she went out with Ms Boretos and that was like a zoo. she
did not know Mr. Gray saw only one den, she saw a lot more than one den.
She stated he and Mane should go out together. Mr. Gray said he would like
.
Mr. Sherman stated he thought that is where this should be headed. He did
not believe there would be a meeting of the minds tonight. He added that he
has known Mr. Brabants for a long time and h has done a lot of good things
for the 'down and when He met with him before he never meant to assume
diose were the only things...M . Brabants stated there was the conversation
about the vernal pool; wildlife habitat was never brought up. Mr. Sherman
