Revised screening schedule -- V.N.A. -- Mr. Costa stated discussion teen <br /> place, at the special meeting of June 21,, 1989 between the V.N. . , <br /> Council on Aging and this Board, regarding the future need for a social <br /> services department. <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated it was agreed upon by the Council on Aging, V.N.A. <br /> and this Board that a meet-ing should take place with selectmen in the <br /> fall to discuss the future of a social services department. <br /> Mr. Costa commented,, the V.N.A. suggested a contract be drawn up for a <br /> certain number of visits, Mr. Costa stated he informed member of the <br /> V.N.A, to submit a contractural agreement i.nc l ud i ng the fee and he would <br /> consult with the Finance Committee as to whether emergency funds could <br /> be provided. Mr. Costa explained that the V.N.A. suggested funding be <br /> directed thru the Board of Health, <br /> Cir. Greelish stated he could envision a way in which human services <br /> could work to provide health services to the town. Mr. Greelish <br /> commented, under a single direction a sub-department could be created <br /> to deal with- health issues and explained that an assessment of the <br /> current situation is the first priority. <br /> Mr. McQuaid suggested the Board consult with the selectmen as to how <br /> R i IY <br /> far they have' gone with the human services idea and commented they may <br /> ha re -r a e 'c n acts -a l read anp <br /> d a' o s i b l e asses ment -of the towns needs <br /> may have' been conducted. <br /> Mr. Greelish was in agreeance and requested , r.. * c ua i d -to schedule a <br /> pr�eliminar, discussion with the Selectmen.
