Photographs : Ann reminded the meeting that they had re- <br /> viously decided that they were going to have notebooks <br /> displacing copies o'f all of the ' photograhs-. 1 Th-e original <br /> ph.otos in t.h.eir files - will have a—locator number on them. <br /> They were trying: to. establish the best possible- solution <br /> to this dilemma, <br /> Ann explained that there was a program in town through the <br /> Council , on Aging, whereby a. volunteer can work for the Town <br /> for Io hours .' and b given a. tax rebate . The Mashpee H. C. <br /> has been assigned a volunteer,. Her name is Marie HeathermanO <br /> The volunteer 'will begin on February 22nd . She will do the <br /> copying , filling . n the photograph form, -arid will get the <br /> photographic program started . <br /> Rosemary recommended that they have a policy where nobody <br /> touches the original photographs except the person in charge, <br /> Ann handed out to the meeting the Photographic Collection <br /> Fora Instructions for their review and approval. Ann sug- <br /> gested that the members take this- form hone and recommend <br /> any changes at the next meeting , <br /> Discussion of coding -of a new photograph as it. comes in to <br /> the Archives , and cross-referencing of tooation' and content <br /> of photograph. <br /> Ann suggested relative to the photo project , to make note of <br /> any questions , and present them to, ,Joanne and Gordon. If you <br /> should have strong concerns ,,' cone in and meet with 'the com- <br /> mittee, If it should be an item that the members will have <br /> to vote upon, then Ann will make certain it will be placed <br /> an the next meeting agenda , <br /> , Cemetery Survey : Ann . reminded the meeting that a year ago , <br /> the H. C. -had applied for a grant and they were turned down. <br /> However , they won the Mass . Historic Preservation. Initiativ . <br /> Ann had attended a meeting in ]december . Sixteen towns had <br /> applied for a grant for cemetery preservation; The . Ma tepee <br /> Historical Commission was o-ne of the sixteen, and money was <br /> available. Ann will leave the grant on the table for all <br /> members to review and refresh their memories . <br /> .The initiative will ,send -out a. survey group to look at the <br /> three cemeteries which were included in our request , Ro anna- <br /> Myc, Main Street , .Jones -Cemetery, Poc nett Cemetery on Meeting <br /> house Road . <br /> Ann explained , when she spoke to Mr.. whritenour , they would <br /> like to have Lee Potter included in this project . "There <br /> will be -monies available for the project . They will recom- <br /> mend what should be done, needs to be dome , and we will see <br /> what comes of it . <br />
