y Asherfs Path: We had all rents paid in full at Asher's Path and we have one vacancy that has been
rented for effective August 1. MassHousing received complaints from two residents at Asher's Path about
the rent increase that went into effect May I from $647 to $681). After reviewing the contract and
documents with Peabody Properties, f assHousing issued a decision that rents should not be increased
until September 1 of each year. Peabody Properties asked rye to notify all the residents that the increase
would be delayed until September 1, which I did. I had a monthly meeting with the residents in which I
reviewed the recertification process, what to do if you have a maintenance emergency, what to do if their
key card doesn"t work, the recycling program, and the status of the Tenant Association. I have made
several attempts to meet with the members active) and they have not indicated a time when we can
meet.
Misc.:
• The monthly IVP AHVP D 1H reports were submitted.
• The monthly Energy Consumption reports were submitted.
I attended the following meetings: Cape housing authority director's meeting, and SHAD
(Small Housing Authority Director's Organization), and a meeting with the County
Commissioners.
• As you know, on June 22, there was a meeting at IHIC which I wrote to you about on June
. Since then, I received an email from Sandra Blackman at MHIC indicating that they were
aiming towards MHA taking over man- agement of Asher's Path on January 1, 2011, as
opposed to 2010. Everyone at the meeting that I talked to afterwards left with the same
impression that I did: If we addressed MHICs concerns we could approach them later this
year for permission to take over management ent January 1, 2010. As you know,, I immediately
started taping action in an effort to address their concerns by meeting with Tom Joy and the
two people from the accounting department at Peabody Properties, and by advertising for a
part--time assistant property manager. Based on Sandra's email, I stopped the process of
hiring anyone and emailed her back with a copy to everyone she emailed, as well as to my
board members outlining ray concerns. She responded to me only(and her supervisor) a
response that I found even more confusing, and a little unfair. At the end of the email she
said she would call me to discuss further. So far, I have not received a call from her. At the
next meeting, I think the board should discuss how to they wish for me to proceed.
ANVP Vouchers: We have 2 AHVP vouchers.
VP VOUCHERS(MOBILE): Currently we have 17 voucher holders in Mashpee.
MIP Project Based Vouchers: we currently have 38 PS vouchers leased.
HM Program: We currently have 3 leased.
Section : we currently have 9 Housing Choice Vouchers leased in Mashpee.
-3-
