4 <br /> • Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 11, 2002 <br /> Joint Meeting— School Committee/Finance Committee: (continued) <br /> The Selectmen agreed to continue budget deliberations on Monday, <br /> February 25, 2002. Correct contractual obligation figures and potential <br /> funding sources will be further reviewed at this time. <br /> Public Hearing—Capital Improvement Program: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing on the review of the <br /> Fiscal Year 2003 Capital Budget, as well as the Capital Improvement Plan <br /> for the ensuing five years. <br /> The report and recommendation of the Capital Improvement Committee <br /> for the FY03 budget was presented to the Selectmen by CIP Committee <br /> members David Leveille, Joyce Mason, Diane Rommelmeyer, Nancy <br /> Goulart and James Morgan. <br /> • The recommended Capital budget is well within the level-funded directive <br /> of the Board of Selectmen. It was noted that several paving projects are <br /> included in a bond issue. Paving projects include improvements to the <br /> KCC School site and parking lot,the Quashnet School tennis courts, <br /> Transfer Station building and site improvements and the paving of the <br /> DPW yard. It was noted that the annual bond payment is included in the <br /> CIP program on a yearly basis. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the recommendations as set forth by <br /> the CIP Committee totaling $656,476. With the exception of the bond in <br /> the amount of$75,000 proposed for recycling improvements, which detail <br /> equipment purchases, the Capital budget as recommended for bonding was <br /> approved in the amount of$899,500. <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the F'Y03 Capital <br /> Improvement Program budget as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green." <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
