Fire Station Building Coaittee <br /> Mnutes <br /> October 191, 1998 <br /> Present: Jim Vaccaro, George Baker, Joyce Mason,Dr. Elizabeth Peal <br /> Absent- Peter Thomas,,, George we ni al <br /> Meeting Ca&d to Order y Chairman Vaccaro at 9:05 a.m, <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room#1. <br /> NE91USL <br /> Iuuday.August. ...,1998-&. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Baker to approve the minutes o <br /> Tuesday,August 4, 1998 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Mrs. Mason. <br /> Unanimous, 4-0. <br /> FME-.STAJLQN..PRQJECT LJPD&-TE-- <br /> Members of the Fire Station Building Committee met for the pose <br /> of reviewing the present status of the Mashpee Fire & Rescue Station <br /> renovation project. <br /> As noted, the architectural firm of Donham & Sweeney, Inc. of Boston <br /> presented developmental east estimates at the last committee meeting. <br /> The two phased construction process with add alternates for a period o <br /> 1.5 years was estimated to cost $3.7 million. The Board of Selectmen <br /> are anticipated to appropriate the sura o $2 million for the intended project <br /> scope. <br /> Town Counsel, Kopelman and Paige is presently reviewing the standard <br /> i <br /> AIA contract between the Town and Donham & Sweeney, Inc. Several- <br /> options for consideration Include; retuming to the open bid process to select <br /> an additional architectural firm, and seeking further proposal scenario's <br /> from the present architectural candidate. <br /> It was noted that modifications can be made to the existing Request for Proposal <br /> to reflect a not to exceed figure of total project cost if authorized by the Board <br /> of Selectmen. <br /> • <br />
