The Fire Chief inquired as to the procedure for the actual <br /> monitoring of the pour tests. Mr. Wheeler responded it would be <br /> possible for the testing to take place on-site if the contractor <br /> has the appropriate tools. Mr. wheeler stated he is available to <br /> be present for any of the testings. <br /> There was some discussion among the Committee Members with <br /> reference to the three above-mentioned firms. Considerations <br /> were made regarding hourly/half- day rates, locations/travel time, <br /> and mileage rates . <br /> George weniak noted the breakdown/detail indicated in the <br /> Briggs report. It was the general consensus of the Committee <br /> that this information is both impressive and helpful. Mrs. Mason <br /> stated it is her opinion, having spoken with all three firms, <br /> that the Briggs Firm conducted themselves In the most <br /> professional manner. She stated that all fax information had <br /> been provided promptly, the sane day in which it had been <br /> requested. <br /> With regard to funding, Mrs. Mason explained the money would <br /> be made arra i l ab 1 e from the Town' s Contingency Fund. <br /> The Chief reported that less encumbrances, the current <br /> budget figure is $276,, 653 . 00 out of which will be taken the <br /> Clerk of the worts wages, testing, change orders, and FF <br /> (fixtures and equipment) . The budget originally showed a total <br /> of $30, 000 . 00 in FFF, which amount will barely cover artt i ipat ed <br /> phone work. <br /> Mrs. Mason stated the Wallace, Floyd, Associates Inc. rate <br /> has been quoted at $5, 000 . 00 for testing, which amount she feels <br /> is more than sufficient. <br /> Mrs. Mason voiced a minor concern regarding the Tibbetts <br /> firm, based upon information that has recently come to her <br /> attention. <br /> It was the general consensus of the Committee- to approve the <br /> firm of Briggs Engineering & Testing. <br /> MOTION: George Wezniak made a Motion in favor of hiring the <br /> firm Briggs Engineering & Testing: which Motion was seconded <br /> y Chief Baker and so voted unanimously. <br /> Review and Approval of Three Invoices <br /> Mrs. Mason presented the following for consideration and <br /> approval for payment <br /> 1 Cape Resources Company in the amount of $225 . 00 for <br /> the removal and hauling of stumps; <br />
