There <br /> enormous Interest regarding the new library and growing expectations of the increased goods <br /> _ 1 err g <br /> and services which will be offered when the Library operas. we are concerned that present <br /> staffing levels will not be sufficient to even maintain what we currently able to provide. <br /> The following problems need to be considered. <br /> Low <br /> Library is open to the public 41 hrs./week. <br /> Director 40 hrs./week <br /> 2 Circulation Assistants 37.5 hrs./week <br /> ] Children's Librarian— hrs weel <br /> I Technical Services Librarian -35 hrs eel <br /> I Circulation Assistant 19 l-trs <br /> I Circulation.Assistant. (7000+ items in storage.) <br /> Where is a condensed service area <br /> I Circulation Desi 2 Terminals) <br /> 3 Public Access Internet Computers & I word Processor assigned by Circ Desk Staff <br /> 2 online Catalogs —all within view and assistance from the Circ Desk Staff. <br /> New Building—21,000 sl ft., 2 Floors 0,000+ items <br /> Downstairs- Circ Desk, New Materials, Audiovisual, Meeting Room, Staff Work Areas <br /> (Tech Services and Delivery, Director's Office), and the Children's wing <br /> Upstairs- Reference Desi - overseeing: <br /> -Public Access Computers, Periodicals, Young Adult (YA) Area, Adult Materials <br /> Dative American & Cape Cod Collection, Reference Section, 2 quiet study rooms <br /> & 2 public bathoorns . <br /> This is comparable to g cg <br /> person beim in charge of all of the Departments on the 2 Floor at <br /> Town Hall. <br /> Additionally, 20 new computers spread between Adult area, YA Area and Children' wing. <br /> (Experience has taught us that computers must be overseen by Staff for assistance and to avoid <br /> possible conflicts.) <br /> F <br />
