seconded by Nancv Soderberg. Agra would like us to look into having a ertiT-IC'. -
Appreciation from the Board of Selectmen printed up to give to Frank as well. Nike made a
motion that, if possible,.the Selectmen could have a "Frank Lord Day" to honor him. The motion
was unanimously approved.
In 2007 sunny Merritt r6tired as President of the Mashpee One-Boon Schoolhouse
Preservation council, Inc., and Frank replaced her. Frank wrote a CPC grant request in 2008
for$35,000 to move the schoolhouse from the site of the Old Indian Meeting douse to its
present location in the Community Park near the Archives building. After the schoolhouse
opened in 2009, Frank became the School Master. He began conducting annual tours of the
schoolhouse for all the Mashpeers third-grade classes and for the general public on Thursdays
from I0;ooam until ;00pm. Frank mored to Nest Yarmouth in December 2016 and resigned
from the Mashpee Historical commission. After the first grade three visit on .dune 9111, health
issues forced hire to cancel the remaining tours. In July he resumed offering tours for the
public, but only by appointment at Ic@m _ m or 508-827-7818.
We discussed having an introductory membership in Massachusetts Historical Society which
would cost $75.00. Ara is familiar with the benefits of such a membership and recommended
that we join. It was approved by all the commissioners present.
Nancy has been researching cost to purchase a large flatbed scanner for the Archives since we
have many documents that once scanned could be available for public access at our website.
She hes received a quote from Kenmark for a used Savin color copier/printer for less cost than
a new flatbed scanner. she has been working with David DelVecchio of IT to purchase the used
machine. The funds for purchasing the copier will cone from previously approved CPC funds.
We discussed beginning the process of selecting maps and other pictures of Mashpee's History
to be hung up on the walls of the Archives. We did decide on a designated map area around
the Conference Table.
Ara made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 1 o:45am} and it was seconded by Nancy. Next
meeting is proposed for July ly 01";time to be decided later.
Submitted by: Ann Graham, Sr. Clerk
