The beache operation could be a money- <br /> making operation, if it were handled properly, she feels. But she <br /> was not sure she could support a seperate Beach Committee. <br /> Chm. Garland stated he could see a Committee like that getting out of <br /> hand. He felt before we have a Beach Committee, we should see what <br /> happens with South Cape Beach. <br /> Both Selectmen felt an Article of this nature is premature, and agreed <br /> it should be dropped from the Warrant. <br /> ARTICLE #13 - Selectmen voted to drop this Article <br /> ARTICLE #14 <br /> ARTICLE #15 Selectmen will support this Article . <br /> ARTICLE #16 - Selectmen felt this Article should have a dollar amount. <br /> Executive Secretary will contact Mr. Sweeney to get proper amount to <br /> insert in Warrant. <br /> ARTICLE #17 - Submitted by Council on Aging, which+ will be meeting to- <br /> morrow. The Council just feels 'they are .not getting .enough water, but <br /> the Selectmen felt 'not� enough research has' been done on -this problem <br /> to determine that a new tank is needed. Sel. Thomas feels a grant the <br /> COA got last year should cover this problem. The pump may just need <br /> • adjusting. The Executive Secretary recommended dropping this Article, <br /> and the Selectmen concurred. <br /> r ,. , <br /> ARTICLE #18 The Executive Secretary does not feel. this Article, re- <br /> questing .funds to renovate" the storage building at the Senior Center, <br /> should be - in the Warrant - no plans have been presented to show what <br /> is needed. Chm. Garland felt that when the plans are prepared, some <br /> of the Senior Citizens should be able to do some of the work themselves. <br /> Sel. Thomas suggested sending a letter to the COA informing them there <br /> will be a Special Town Meeting in the fall , when perhaps they can have <br /> some concrete plans ready. <br /> ARTICLE #19 Some of this money will go for lights and siren for one <br /> of the Police Department's vehicles. <br /> ARTICLE #'20 The Selectmen agreed to drop this Article from the <br /> Warrant until some study can be made of the request. Sel. Thomas be- <br /> lieves there has already been prepared a plan of the cemetery, and <br /> Mr. Pocknett should have. it. The Executive Secretary said the plan <br /> is the first step - at the Special Town Meeting in the fall, funds <br /> will be asked to expand the cemetery. <br /> ARTICLE #21 The Executive Secretary recommended deferring this <br /> Article. Chm. Garland asked if there was no money in the contingency <br /> fund? The Exec. Secretary stated that there may be, but he doesn' t <br /> want to touch that while there are still other problems hanging out <br /> there. No one had seen any plans or specifications on the Drying <br /> Tower that would indicate it was ready to go out for bid; it was de- <br /> cided to drop Article 21 from the Warrant. <br />
