<br /> Tremblett, " October 6 , and the State fire marshall did get called
<br /> in, and he came over up to the Community College where I am, was
<br /> attending classes to speak to a friend of mine who had come by that
<br /> night. She came by at seven that night and my house was intact, and
<br /> initially Sgt. Cooper from the police department wasn't too interested
<br /> in going up to the college. Between the intimidations that I had gotten
<br /> and the accusations , the questioning the day after the fire , and the
<br /> recordings , the whole, all the connotations that was being put to us
<br /> he did not want this girl to be put under that so he , the Dean of
<br /> Students requested that they come up and speak to her there in the
<br /> Dean' s , his office . When Sgt. Cooper was told that, he wasn't inter-
<br /> ested in speaking to a witness that we had conjured up and that if she
<br /> did want to get involved that she should come see him during his busi-
<br /> ness hours . With that Dean Sullivan called the Chief of Police and the
<br /> next day Sgt. Cooper and the fire marshall were there getting the info-
<br /> mation that was needed. It is all pertinent to the investigation, but
<br /> it has just been one frustration, and really just confusing situation.
<br /> Plus the insurance company is involved and you know everybody and oh,
<br /> Mr. Martini said well we have nothing to do with the insurance company,
<br /> and all this stuff and when he found out the insurance company was
<br /> going to settle with usm he called them and told them not to give us
<br /> any money. " Chm. Thomas , " who did?" Mrs . Tremblett, "Mr. Martini. "
<br /> Chm. Thomas, "well we will take and we have absorbed what you have
<br /> to say, and we will have a meeting of the minds before anything is
<br /> done . " Mrs. Tremblett, "I didn' t know, I was a little on the fence
<br /> • as far as telling you what I have, but I felt where you are Town offi-
<br /> cials that you should know what is going on. When people are faced
<br /> with personal disasters. Chm. Thomas, we cannot do anything if we
<br /> don' t know. " Sel. Garland, "what is the name of the young lady, the
<br /> witness?" Mrs . Tremblett, "Sharon Perdolla, I think . " Sel. Garland,
<br /> "thank you for bringing this to our attention. " Mrs . Tremblett, "you
<br /> can contact the Dean of students and I am sure he will be glad to tell
<br /> you what happened. " Chm. Thomas , "okay, Mrs. Tremblett. " Mrs . Trem-
<br /> blett, "thank you, thank you for listening to me. " Board thanked her
<br /> for coming. Mrs . Tremblett said, " and I ' ll see you in February. " Chm.
<br /> Thomas asked, "Did you make arrangement for moving the trailer over the
<br /> road. " Mrs . Tremblett, " I am on my way to the police station now, I
<br /> didn't want to make those arrangements until I knew what was going to
<br /> happen here today. " Board directed Executive Secretary to get everyone
<br /> involved,. Police Chief Frye , Fire Chief Priestly, Sgt. Cooper, Fire-
<br /> fighter Richard Martini to a meeting Monday., November 22, 1982 at
<br /> 10:00 a.m. in the Selectmen' s office. Board also suggested Executive
<br /> Secretary contact. Dean Sullivan, Dean of Students , for a written state-
<br /> ment. Board reminded Executive Secretary to advise them of their rights.i
<br /> OLD BUSINESS :
<br /> 1. ) Board discussed memo from Executive Secretary pertaining to Holidays .
<br /> Chm. Thomas said that this means the office will be closed on Friday,
<br /> December 24, 31, and January 14 . Executive Secretary discussed the
<br /> • Friday after Thanksgiving, and said some elected officials were closing
<br /> their office that day. Board felt that those elected officials should
<br /> be forced to give up that day' s pay. Board felt that this, should be
<br /> brought up at budget time.
