Unanimous. <br /> •E i i W� uY <br /> Shellfish Fund X ' <br /> The Board reviewed a memo dated August B from the Executive <br /> $} <br /> Secretary requesting authorization for him to communicate to the. <br /> Treasurer .regarding the Shellfish Fund. <br /> The Executive Secretary refreshed the Board's memory that at the <br /> Annual Town Meeting in June , the Town's people approved a hone <br /> rule petition to establish a Shellfish Fund. It is the opinion + <br /> of Counsel that this does not need to go barb to a town meeting <br /> and that the Board can authorize the Treasurer to begin <br /> establishment t of the account immediately. Through the present <br /> time , the Executive Secretary pointed out that they collected <br /> $1 ,140 in shellfish funds, <br /> Se l # Thomas said that we have t o f o l 3 ow through with Town Meeting <br /> direction . Thomas asked if there was no second and no action does it <br /> mean that this thing does not follow through or its course, Town <br /> Counsel said that he thought it might be appropriate if the Board <br /> of Selectmen supported that directive by confirming the instruc— <br /> tion <br /> nstr — <br /> tion that the Executive Secretary is going to give to the <br /> Treasurer. <br /> The Executive Secretary pointed out that the reason for this is <br /> at this time the money is going back into the general fund.
