i
Board of selectmen Page Ten.
` Regular Meeting
Wednesday, January 7 , 19 b
In teras of time , if we 're able to capitalize on thein expenses , they' ll
save money, we' ll save money and so will the Town in the development of
the system.
'We would like you to put on the Town Meeting agenda or
perhaps have a Special Tows Meeting that would l establish a. water
district at least in this area. From what l understand from lir.
Hostetter, it would probably be logical to do Olt for this area and the
area up above * 2) Consider re- oning the 40-acre parcel we have on
Route 28 from an industrial-zoned area to a. residential-zoned area -
40,000 sq. Feet. We ' ll be able to go back to our people and tell them
that if the process takes six, twelve , fifteen months to get an OSID
permit, we have established the first step, we have the area re-zoned
then we can put all these units in and rake it a. very marketable piece
of property, " . ..
Mrs . Thomas : "You understand our agreement with Falmouth
in trying to inter-change water for the B ia.rwood and Ashumet areas
Mr%. Datami : "That's correct. " Mrs Thomas : "I would assure that
should the Town develop that well, m sure that we 're going t be
looking at Mon.omoscoy and Seoonsett wanting to tap into it also" .
Mr. Datami : "AS l understood;Oit , the projected cost to tie in from
that particular well-site was going to be soeFlt in the vicinity
Of a million dollars for for development of ha.rd.war . ' That did not
include the acquisition of the properties . what we ,r~e doing is trading
one for the other. 'the well has got the capacity of approximately
million gallons a day. There is a potential second well-site on the
property and there is .the third well-site that the High ..
has north of the property. Probably unlike any other well-site you're L
going to have in the Town, you're going to have 280 acres of contri-
bution that is going to that is going to be relatively un-spoiled, Not
the entire area, but certain- ly more than other areas of .the Town. The
High wood well is on their own property" .
Mr. Datamio said that at this time he is not looking for
solid commitment of dol.la.rs t at this time. "If we can possible know vire
have a, receptacle and once we know we have a water district in which we
can work, thea we can start to line up the other people" .
Mr. Fudala noted that at some point the Ford Group will be
interested in setting up a. related sewer district.
Mr. Lawrence said , "I ' in favor of going as fast and as far
ahead as we can at this Point. I have no objection to holding a. special
meeting" . Mr. Hanson and Mrs . Thomas concurred with this stater en.t#
with Ir. Danson stating that a. decision about holding a. special Town
meeting would be made after discussing the matter with Town Counsel,
Mr. Datami, representiong the Ford Development Corporation
Group, Mr. Hostetter will meet with the Selectmen and Town Counsel
tomorrow (January 8 , 1987 at 2 :00 . M. for further discussion.
w
