Draft I - March 16, 1995 <br /> "The Committee shall study proposed capital outlays involving the acquisition of <br /> land or any expenditure of single or of multiple like items totaling (sic) ten thousand <br /> dollars ($10,000) with a useful life or at least three (3) years. All officers, boards or <br /> committees, including the Selectmen and School Committee, shall, by September 1 <br /> of each year, give to such committee, on forms prepared by it, information <br /> concerning all projects anticipated by them. i.e. involving the acquisition of land or <br /> an expenditure of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) having a useful life of at least three <br /> (3)years. The Committee shall consider the relative need, timing and cost of these <br /> expenditures and the effect each will have on the financial position of the Town." <br /> Submitted by Petition <br /> Article 54. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the language of Section 15-14 and amend the <br /> language of Section 5-8 of Article III, Chapter 5 of the Mashpee Code by deleting <br /> the current language of said section and substituting the following: <br /> The Finance Committee shall consist of five (5) voters of the Town, none of whom <br /> shall hold any other elective of (sic) appointed Town office except as otherwise <br /> authorized in this code. Effective with the Annual Election of 1996, members of the <br /> Finance Committee shall be elected one (1) each from the residents of voting precinct <br /> one and four for a term of two (2) years, and one (1) each from the residents of <br /> voting precinct two and three for a term of one (1) year and one (1) from the voters <br /> of Mashpee at large (to serve as chairman) for a term of two (2) years. Thereafter, <br /> members of the Finance Committee shall be elected for two (2) years as their terms <br /> of office expire. Maximum tenure in office shall be three consecutive terms." <br /> Submitted by Petition <br /> Article 55. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the language of Section 5-9 of Article III, <br /> Chapter 5 of the Mashpee Code by deleting the current language of said section and <br /> substituting the following: <br /> "The Finance Committee shall choose one (1) of its number as Clerk. Said <br /> Committee may consider such questions with reference to the conduct of the Town <br /> affairs as it may deem advisable and may consult with any and all officers, boards <br /> and committees of the Town with reference to matters under its supervision; it shall <br /> consider the various articles in the warrant for any annual or special meeting called <br /> during its tenure of office and shall make a report of its doings and recommendations <br /> Page 2 6 <br />
