Taylor Fleeting Called to Order by Chairman O'Hara at 6:30 p.m. ashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room MINUTES Mondgy, September 11, 2017 Rcgqlar Session: Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the minutes of Monday, September 11, 2017 as presented. Lotion seconded by Selectman Cotton. VOTE: Unanimous. -o. Roll Call vote. Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sberman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes opposed, none APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS PublicComment: Mary Waygan disseminated an announcement offering training to elected and appointed municipal leaders and town staff in a.six part workshop to gain Imowledge and shills to develop a comprehensive housing supply strategy, The program is sponsored by the Community Development Partnership & Housing Assistance Corporation and begins on October I I, 2017 through November 16, 2017. Ms. Waygan indicated that select boards such as Planning, Zoning, CPC, Housing Trusts and (fordable Housing Co=ittees would benefit from this program. (enclosure) In other matters Mary Waygan, Chair of the Planning Department commented on the Selectmen's decision to not publicly release the Selectmen's Meeting packet on the Town's website prior to a meeting. Raising the issue of transparency 1n which public policy 1s based, Ms. Waygan indicated this is not in the spirit of the open meeting lav, and democracy which depends on the public having knowledge of the process, With regards to redacting information, Ms. Waygan stated the information must be redacted before it is given to the Board of Selectmen. In closing this comment, Ms. Waygan was asked if the Planning Board posts its agenda packets on the Town website prior to a meeting. The reply from Ms. Waygan was no.
