i
735 Falmouth Road o inured i
• Charlie added that with the back elevations fire truck would have trouble getting to the back of
the building without a retaining wall.
• i
,Joyce Mason suggested they should reach out to any of the Town Departments during the
process. i
Applicant needs to return tReview/Plan/Flan Design Review meeting.
21 orchard Road
Judd second transformer and associated
Switching equipment to an existing electrical Substation
Representative – Ge[a 11cDerrnont
Dennis Galvarn introduced Gerry McDerrnont and John Zicko. He said they were before the
committee 2 years ago and are now here looking at best way to add the transformer. .John Zicko then
led the discussion:
[Nearly 2 years ago they addressed growth in the area. Here-today with substantially same
project with same footprint.
0 Past 2 years using a patchwork of system improvements to meet increased demand.
0 Installing second transformer will give them opportunity to modernize equipment and will be
less exposure to animals, etc.
0 Showed ro osed Plan.
0 Charlie Maintanis said one concern is that it is close to residential property. Mr. Zicko said
they have not looked at how to mitigate visual view for the mutters.
0 2 years ago they went to site and staked it, but will probably have to re-stale it.
Charlie said sound was also an issue. Mr. Zicko said new transformer is a lot quieter then
before...big improvement in that regard. He said they changed the original transformer and
the one there is substantially quiet.
.Jonathan Furbush asked whether there was a wave-type fence that could be used. Mr. Zicko
responded they have various ways of dealing with sound. He said if they can't meet
requirements they will build sound walls around the equipment.
,Joe Cummings said 2 homes there have.the most visual impact. Mr. Zi ko agreed.
• IIIb. Zicko, said when they put the nein transformer in they will need 2 1 0KV circuit breakers
and they will leave spaces for 4 more.
o Switches do not produce any noise—transformers produce noise.
Before doubling number of transformers they will replace old one. Replacement and added
transformer will meet requirements. IIIb. Zicko said from experience with duplicate transformer
next-to an existing one you, won't notice much of a difference in the property line,
Tour Fudala mentioned that for years they were talking about adding another power line. Mr.
Zicko said the project is being planned at very high level but he doesn't know where second
line for that right-of- gray falls into that plan.
Torr asked about the DPD zoning exemption. lir. Zicko said one of the reasons they are here
today is to get any Mashpee concerns to be addressed before.going to DPU for height
variance-and some other variances. He said DPU route was considered best way but they do
o into the-community to address their concerns.
0 Torn pointed out that their--plan is lacking in detail needed. Mr. Zicko. agreed but said what was
submitted was just for talk.today.
2
