Page 8 <br /> Keeter Site Collection Area <br /> The Keeter service area is an established area that is predominantly residential with a limited amount of small <br /> commercial properties. In total there are about 1305 properties to be served. The service area is very low lying <br /> with a topography that varies about 20'. The topography starts at sea level and gradually ascends away from the <br /> ocean. The service area is also very spread out and includes an island.An aerial of the area is show below: <br /> 1506scbe,ty Island <br /> vopponeVel <br /> ze <br /> land <br /> i <br /> Treatment capacity would be constructed to servie the Keeter service area.The longest pumping distance would <br /> be approximately 3 miles. <br /> We would anticpate that this area could be serviced with a STEP collection system in its entirity. We would not <br /> require list stations as all STEP system would eaily pump directly to the point of treatment. The large service <br /> area and long pumping distances would likely be difficult for a grinder pump system to service without the <br /> addition of lift stations. <br /> Also, STEP effluent is also partially treated before it leaves the residence. Seconsett Island could be served with <br /> a subaqueous crossing between the island and the mainland that would be directionally bored under the <br /> waterway. STEP effluent poses far less environmental risk than does raw wastewater effluent conveyed in a <br /> imilar manner. An aerial of the island is shown below: <br />
