HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE--PUBLIC SESSION <br /> APRIL 2G,2018 <br /> Committee Members Present: Also Present: <br /> John Calahane <br /> Lynne Waterman Gail Wilson,Human Services Director <br /> Veronica Warden <br /> Mary Bradbury <br /> Ebony Steele <br /> Lynne Barbee <br /> Frank Fantasia <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman John Calahane called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS—None <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Review of minutes from February 15,2018 <br /> Motion: Veronica Warden moved to accept the minutes of February 15,2018, <br /> seconded by Lynne Barbie. Vote 5-0-2 with Lynne Waterman and Frank Fantasia <br /> abstaining. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Guest Presenter—Anne Colwell, CEO, Cape Cod Child Development <br /> The Director welcomed Anne Colwell, CEO of Cape Cod Child Development. Each <br /> member introduced themselves to Anne Colwell and she thanked the Committee for the <br /> money they donate to Cape Cod Child Development each year. She gave the background <br /> of her organization and noted they have been in existence over 45 years. She described <br /> the different programs: Early Intervention, Specialty Services,Autism Program, <br /> Headstart Program, Half Day Program, Wrap Around Care, and Pre-School. She also <br /> spoke about Coordinated Family Community Engagement,the Children's Museum, and <br /> Jonah Shea Program. She noted they are looking to expand and recently changed their <br /> name to Family Links as the parent company and Cape Cod Child Development as an <br /> affiliate. <br /> Responding to some questions, Anne Colwell noted there are a lack of bus drivers on the <br /> Cape so sometimes transportation is limited. There was a discussion regarding a <br /> classroom that was previously in Mashpec for the Headstart Program but was eliminated <br />
