12
unce you have this , it could develop into a large scale op-
eration where you might have other things that affect the area
like additional parking.
R Dubin: iiianufacturing is denied. if you look at it is
compatible with the existing uses.
I think that it relates too close to a manufacturing process
and think its too broad in the areas it affects the town.
L. iliarsters: Next article reads : changing the zoning de-
signation for a parcel of land consisting of 3. 61 acres at the
corner of Rte 28 and idoisy Hole Rd. being Lot 3 on Mashpee
Assessors Niap 54, from R-2 and R-3 to Industrial.
1Vo opposition.
ivext article-- Proposed change to Sec. 6.3 and new
section will read dealing with the scope of Board of Appeals
in determing where something is allowed use --- It' s some-
thing I think the Board of Appeals needed cleaned up in their
existing regulations so that their authority is more clearly
defined.
Next article-- a new permit procedure for floating
piers. This proposes addition toihe zoning bylaws which
states. . . . A special permit shall be required for all
fixed of floating piers, wharfs or docks, both seasonal and
year-round. Prior to the grant of any such special permit,
the Board of Appeals shall requiest he advice and recommend-
ations of the Conservation Commission and the harbormaster,
and shall not grant the special permit if the structure will
unduly interfere with free passage of travel by water or cause
substatial disruption of the marine environment. Any special
permit granted hereunder shall be subject to the securing of
all necessary permits from Town, State and Federal Government
units having jurisdicbi.on over inland and/or coastal waterways
and wetlands. : and by the designation SP under al1 .R distric
columns and the C2 column'.
This overlays one additional rule existing permit procedure.
Presently you need to go the the Conservation Commission to
get a dock. This will require you to .- o to the Board of Appeals
in construction of the dock.
Jean Thomas : Just to clarify that one of the existing zoning
by' laws is almost word for word but across it doesn' t say
special permits. All it ' s saying is exceeds weight by ft.
What this does is clarify it that you have to have a special
permit.
Any pier, fixed or floating will need a special permit. Does
the applicant go for a special permit first to zoning appeals
or Conservation Commission.
2 Dubin First Conservation then Board of ApLeal;3
