If it ' s a professional bldg. does it .haaveuto be termed
industrial':
E. Marsters: Our industrial usage does allow office buildings
in our zoning.
i,r. Dunning said it isn' t technically spot zoning, when we all
know that it is. I feel we xe seeing a situation on one hand
we are trying to protect theland and its use,and individuals
on the other handwho come forward and want to take an isolated
piece of land regardless of chat' s around it and change its use
for no other purpose than profit. I feel under that circum-
stance the tDwn should have a better reason to change the zoning
other than profit.
E Marsters: You can be assured the planning board will
consider more than profit when we look at it.
mr. Randolph: Am I todunderatand that the only zoning in town
that will accommodate professional offices is industrial?
E Marsters: No, commercial is oreintensive use. If it is
going to be changed I would rather see it change from commer-
cial to industrial.
I would like to know how they are going to use the 3 plus acres
iir. Dunning: I would like to explain why we want to rezone.
In the town f i-Iiashpee , under the zoning bylaws if you wish to
put up a professional office you have to be in a commercial
or industrial zone. Industrial zone we thought was far more
restrictive than a commercial zone. The setbacks are only 40
ft. as opposed to 150 ft and since that our only interest in
putting in professional office, we thought that it would be
far less demanding upon the town. We don' t have any intention
of doing han having anything other than professional offices.
We' ve had an office in town for over 12 years and have outgrown
our space. We are looking to put up a new building in that
particular space.
How many homes can you get on there now?
Part of its zoned R2 and part L{3 about 4 single family.
How many office buildings in that piece of property?
Don' t know exactly, basically just putting in an Mice for
ourselves. We have about 2200 sq ft. , 6 attorneys incur
office and 8 other employees. We' re looking to put up a
building about 4500 sq. ft
