Article <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept a deed in lieu of tax <br /> foreclosure, pursuant to G.L. c.60, §77C, conveying fee title to the parcel of real estate owned by <br /> the Margeret E. Savery shown on Mashpee Assessors Map 47 as Parcel 28, and further identified <br /> as Main Street Rear (as more particularly described in Barnstable Registry of Deeds`Book 10381, <br /> Page 260); said land to be conveyed to the Town free and clear of any liens or encumbrances <br /> except for municipal tax liens securing payment of outstanding real estate taxes, and upon <br /> conveyance to the Town, to be held for general municipal purposes. Furthermore, to authorize <br /> the Board of Selectmen to undertake any act or to execute any document necessary to <br /> consummate this transaction, in accordance with the provisions of G.L. c.60, §77C, or take any <br /> other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: General Law c. 60, §77C allows towns to acquire title to tax delinquent parcels <br /> without the need of going through the cost, expense and time required to obtain a judicial <br /> foreclosure judgment provided that Town Meeting authorizes the acquisition and there are no <br /> liens or encumbrances on the parcel other than Town liens securing the payment of taxes. <br />
