<br /> r and the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: also proud of our support for the Mashpee Little League
<br /> Baseball and Soccer Programs.

<br /> Leisure Service Department for their dedicated support,
<br /> The year of 1992 ended the third full year of operation enthusiasm, and inspiration:
<br /> of the realigned Leisure Services Department, and an
<br /> exciting year of growth of services provided to town Eiblis Cazeault - Program Supervisor
<br /> residents occurred. During this time, the role of the Elizabeth Jones - Administrative Clerk
<br /> department expanded within the community, with Jean Young - Administrative Clerk
<br /> additional programs being implemented. The year saw
<br /> development in areas of recreation, education, youth In addition, I would like to thank the following for
<br /> sports, lifeskills, and personal growth. their continued assistance in helping us to provide the
<br /> citizens of Mashpee a better quality of life: D.P,w.,Fire
<br /> Regretfully, our Director for the past 3 years, Dean &Rescue Department,Police Department,Town Clerk's
<br /> Driscoll, left our services for a very distinguished spot office, Mashpee Little League,Youth Soccer,Friends of
<br /> with a national athletic shoe company. we wish him Mashpee Youth, and Mashpee Commons. I would also
<br /> much success, and we are grateful for his dedicated like to thank all of the volunteers in helping to provide
<br /> service. In addition, retiring after many dedicated years programs and special events.
<br /> of service was our Administrtive Clerk,Mae Lofchie.we
<br /> wish her the best of luck in her "Leisure"time. Respectfully submitted,
<br /> During the summer of 1992, Mashpee again was Augustus C. Frederick, Jr.
<br /> unable to financially support lifeguard coverage at any of Leisure Service Director
<br /> the three beaches in town-South Cape,John's Pond,and
<br /> Attaquin Park. However, with the economy showing
<br /> signs of relief, it is expected that a full contingent of
<br /> Guards will be back in place during the Sumner of 1993,
<br /> including the much needed Youth Swim lessons. `
<br /> Throughout the year,a number of residents took part
<br /> in special trips that took them "off Cape"to some very
<br /> interesting and entaining places - from skiing at
<br /> Gunstock Mtn, to music at Tanglewood, shopping in
<br /> Freeport, Maine, and to the Tall Ships Regatta in
<br /> Boston.
<br /> Educational programs were offered through the
<br /> Community School which entailed programs from
<br /> tan . .
<br /> guages, accounting, Adult Literacy, G.E.D., to
<br /> Introduction to Computers, and study skills
<br /> development for teens. In addition,personal growth and ;
<br /> lifeskills programs such as Stop Smoking, Cakedect
<br /> orating, Bird Carving, Piano/Guitar/Banjo lessons,
<br /> Safe Boating,CPR, and a bicycle rodeo were highlights.
<br /> Recreational and fitness programs that were well
<br /> attended were:Jazzercize,Golf lessons,High School and
<br /> Adult Basketball,Tai Chi,Tennis, and Badminton.The
<br /> 3rd Annual Super Swim on John's Pond was a great
<br /> success thanks to the help of Bob Sullivan, as over 34
<br /> swimmers took part in the 1 mile and 3 mile marathons. _
