Town of Mashpee <br /> Department of Natural Resources Facility <br /> Feasibility Study-Site Selection <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> Task 1—Space Needs Assessment <br /> 1.1 Attend an initial kick-off meeting with the Town to discuss project objectives and <br /> schedule. <br /> 1.2 Meet with key staff from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to develop the <br /> building and site program requirements. Interviews shall be conducted and will focus on <br /> developing an understanding of the operations. Some of the topics that may be discussed <br /> at these interviews are as follows: <br /> • Existing building and site deficiencies <br /> • Description of the day-to-day operations <br /> • Boat/equipment maintenance needs <br /> • Boat/equipment storage needs <br /> • Employee facilities needs including a water quality laboratory <br /> • Shop requirements <br /> • Anticipated growth in service <br /> • Anticipated growth in vehicles, equipment, and materials <br /> • Site needs (e.g.boat/equipment storage and stormwater control) <br /> 1.3 Based on the results of the staff interviews,prepare programming sketches for each major <br /> area to be incorporated into the new facility. These programming-sketches will provide <br /> layouts for each space,including desks, chairs, shelves,.file cabinets,vehicles, equipment, <br /> and boats. <br /> 1.4 Identify site components to be incorporated into the new facility including <br /> boat/equipment storage, circulation,parking, and stormwater system requirements. <br /> 1.5 Review the programming sketches with the Town and incorporate comments accordingly <br /> and assembled the space needs into a matrix that will summarize the total area needed. <br /> 1.6 Use the building and site programming information to develop a generic site concept to <br /> identify the minimum operational area needed for the facility. <br /> Task 2 -Siting <br /> 2.1 The site selection process will include reviewing existing Town-owned properties as <br /> identified by the Town. The site selection analysis shall include performing an initial <br /> screening of all the sites and performing a more comprehensive evaluation of the sites <br /> that pass the initial screening. <br /> -1- <br />
