BOX 1108
MASHPEE, MA 02649
PLANNING BOARD MINUTES : 7/17/85 P. 10
------------------------------------------------------------------------
grade on the outside of the wall to the bottom which means it would be
above frost level . They did not have enough room so they proposed the
retaining wall . Mr . Rowley said he would check this out on the cross
section. He pointed out that the rules and regulations do not say they
must have a shoulder . He felt this is not a good idea . He had advised
the developer that he might make recommendations for special requirements .
He stated that he had not looked at the drainage . Mr . Rowley' s report on
this project will be placed on the August 7th agenda .
Mr . Rowley further stated that all detail must be included on the plans
as submitted to the Board . This is to include storm drainage , head walls
for pipe , and details for retaining walls . The plans must be complete so
the burden of design does not fall to him. Mr . Rowley felt that plans are
being submitted without being checked for conformity.
Mr . Dubin stated that the rules and regulations should be reviewed and
then emphasis should be placed on enforcement of conformity.
Mr . Collins raised the matter of the houses on Asher ' s Path . He said
it would be insisted that they pave 1001 . He asked if there was
satisfactory drainage . Mr . Jonas said it was an old plan. Mr . Collins
thought it went back to 1972 . Mr . Collins stated that he had advised the
developer that Mr . Rowley would probably come up and specify what would
.be required. Mr . Dubin stated that they should file a written request for
inspection and give the Board a copy of the road profiles . This project
was originally filed under "Peter ' s Enterprise" . Mr. Collins stated that
there were two houses actually on the wrong street in that they front on
Sachem Road .
Mr . Rowley stated that his report would be available for the August 7th
meeting relative to the release of covenant on Seabrook Shores .
Ms . Stone made the motion to adjourn the meeting . This was seconded by
Mr . Collins and the Board voted unanimously in favor . The meeting was
adjourned at 10 : 43 p .m.
Mr . Dubin reconvened the meeting at 10 : 45 p .m. He introduced a letter
from Conservation relative to John' s Pond Park. The Board is awaiting
Town Counsel ' s opinion. The secretary was directed to include copies of
this letter in the LaCava File , the Quashnet Valley Country Club file , and
the LaBute (William Mingo Road) file . Mr . Dubin directed the secretary
to contact Mr . Devane of Quashnet Valley to request his presence at the
August 7th meeting to discuss the locaton and status of Phinney' s Lane .
