Toffin of 'Ra5lippe
P. 0, BOX 1108
MASHPEE, MA 02649
PLANNING BOARD MINUTES : 4/24/85 P. 16
Mr. Dubin opened the public hearing on amending Section 6.3 .1 of the
zoning by-laws . He read the notice as advertised in the newspaper (see
attached ) .
Mr. Dubin: Doug, comment on this one?
Mr. Boyd : Well basically if someone 's home burns down they're allowed a
mobile home but a lot of people sell their home and don't have a place
to live . They'll come to us and ask if they can put a mobile home on
our site while we 're building our home and we have to say no . There 's
nothing to allow them to live in a trailer for x number of months while
they're building a home . There 's a lot of couples that put their sweat
equity in a house and try to do it together. It would be an eakier way
to build their house . They would be on the site .
Mr . Dubin: Then you 're going to have a mobile home and house on a site
i for awhile .
Mr . Boyd : It 's possible . The thing that makes it difficult is they do
have to meet Board of Health requirements .
Mr. Dubin: That 's not going to be very pretty.
Mr . Marsters : I though we had that provision. It 's not in there?
Mr. Dubin: T don't like the thought that while they're there , when the
house is almost done , you 're going to have site with a mobile home and
a house . You're going to have to take down more trees . You've run into
problems where . . .
or, Boyd: Well I think Harold probably has more than I but I have since
I 've been here ,
Or. Collins : You run into trouble all the time . Sometimes the trailer
stays for 2 years ,
Mr. Dubins Well that 's not good . That 's something i think we 'd want
to discourage , Do we want to encourage it at all?
Mr. Uoyd : Here it says 18 months .
111r . Marsters : On think that bothers me is they move trailers in right
next dood they moved a trailer in and nothing's ever been done . That 's
in addition to the house being occupied .
Mr. Collins : Is it moved out?
