9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 6, 2020 <br /> TOWN MANAGER UPDATES <br /> Department of Natural Resources: Space has been rented for the DNR to continue its propagation program for <br /> shellfish remediation. <br /> Alcohol Nips: In reviewing the potential to ban alcohol nips in the Town of Mashpee, the Board of Selectmen <br /> acting as the Licensing Authority have the ability to adopt local licensing rules and regulations not requiring <br /> Town Meeting action. It was agreed the Board would consider a Public Hearing and the rules and regulations if <br /> voted would become a part of the license condition. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to convene in Executive Session at 7:50 p.m. to: <br /> A) Discuss Strategy with Respect to Pending Litigation, (Blue Sky Towers, II LLC v. Town of <br /> Mashpee et al.): <br /> B) Discuss Strategy with Respect to pending Litigation in the matter of Opioid Tort Litigation <br /> Pursuant to M.G.L., C. 30A, §21(a) (3),with the chair declaring than an open meeting may have a <br /> detrimental effect on the litigating position of the Town. The Board will not reconvene in Open Session <br /> upon conclusion of the Executive Session. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed, none <br /> gespectfully submitted, <br /> Kathleen M.
