'I <br /> Rodney C.,Collins <br /> Subject: F: lion-resident parking permit fee for Seconsett Island Causeway <br /> Torn Manager Collins, <br /> After further consideration and discussion with Harbormaster Jeff Smith, Shellfish Constable Ashley Fisher, and <br /> Falmouth Marine and Environmental affairs irector Gregg Fraser, we are changing our recommendation for Non- <br /> resident parking permits for Seconsett Island Causeway only to a $30 annual fee for Non-resident Waquoit Bay mooring <br /> holders, and Falmouth non-commercial shellfish permit holders. As you know, reciprocity for both Faalrouth and <br /> Mash ee to shellfish in all of Wadquoit Bay is Britten into our shellfish regulations. The Seconsett Island causeway is the <br /> access for the lion-commercial (family)shellfishing area on the Mashpee side of the bay at the causeway which in the <br /> mooring area. It is the most popular and accessible area for shwellfi,shing area in Mashpee. The Division of Marin-e <br /> Fisheries informed us that they night have to close that area and all other mooring,areas to shellfishin .in the summer <br /> under pressure from federal agencies.. OM is trying to avoid this but If it happens,the Falmouth Board of*,Selectmen <br /> could designate,a non-commercial shellfishing area on the Falmouth side on theTown line at the causeway,that is not in <br /> a mooring area, and would be open for shellf shing for both towns in the summer. The Mash ee side of the causeway is <br /> the only parking or potential parking area on either side of the Town line.
