Minutes of Meeting of
Design Review Committee
Tuesday, July 21, 2020
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Greg represented the signage project for 31 Evergreen Circle. The first
request is to install a free standing sign that is 20 sq. ft. The material is a PVC
product for the panel, and it will have raised lettering. The poles will have a
PVC cover, and it have a concrete bed.
Charlie wanted to know how many sq. ft. is the sign from above the poles,
and the colors. Greg said it's a medium blue with a light blue edge around it
as requested by their customer.
Greg supplied the committee with the true pallet color and pointed out the
deeper blue color, with the lighter edge.
Jon had no issues, Joe had no issues. Charlie said that the color pallet shown
should be noted in the motion. Greg said he can supply the number and will
document it.
Greg said the material for the building sign is the same as the street sign. The
sign is a 3/4 PVC, and has a digital flat image. The media print is a brass that
is used on vehicles, has a long life and is laminated. The bottom half of the
sign is also 3/4 PVC with 1/2 inch raised PVC letters. There's a main panel
and the raised letters on top. The junction boxes above are on the building
now, and will have a goose-neck; 3 across the Cape Cod Dog Center, and
one above the round image.
Sharon read Evan's email dated July 16, 2020 sent to Charlie. "He
recommended approval conditional upon the panel being lowered to be
centered within the sign band. The circular logo sign does not obscure
architectural features and is generally ok where proposed but the
Committee and 'applicant should consider lowering it on the building
consistent with the main panel as shown with arrows in the attached rough
comments."
Greg agreed he can move the sign as recommended.
Jonathan made a motion to accept the proposed signage on the property at
31 Evergreen Circle for the Cape Cod Dog Center, and with the stipulation
that the committee abide by the suggestions from Evan Lehrer regarding
moving the sign on the building down, and the circle picture as agreed. Joe
seconded. Charlie mentioned that the colors. Jonathan suggested that the
applicant reprint the rendering, and send it back with the colors. Greg agreed.
3
