12 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 24, 2020 <br /> Discussion and Possible Action on Draft#3 of the October 19 2020 Town Meeting Warrant: (continued) <br /> Article#10 Municipal Plastic Bottle Ban (continued) <br /> A brief discussion followed with respect to the implementation of the municipal plastic bottle ban. It was agreed <br /> during a State of Emergency and with the COVID-19 pandemic the ban should be exempted. <br /> It was recommended the Town consider the installation of hands-free water access to refill reusable containers. <br /> *The articles are grouped and the numerical sequencing is staggered. <br /> Article #13 Short-term Rental; To ensure efficiencies the article would stagger the expiration dates and <br /> renewal periods and the Board of Health would have latitude with respect to the issuance of Temporary Rental <br /> Certificates if and when it becomes impossible to conduct all the required inspections prior to the beginning of <br /> the rental season. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to include and support Article#13 for placement on the October <br /> Town Meeting Warrant. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Article#17 To prohibit the use of Personal Watercrafts on Ashumet Pond. Both the Town of Mashpee and <br /> the Town of Falmouth are required to approve this ban. <br /> It was noted the majority of owners on the pond reside in Mashpee.
