13 Board of Selectmen Minutes March 2, 2020 Discussion and Approval of FY 2021 Transfer Station Sticker Fees (Continued from February 10, 2020): (continued) Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to increase the 1st Household Sticker to $185,with additional costs set as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. VOTE: 3-2. Motion carries. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Gottlieb, no Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden, no Opposed, (2) NEW BUSINESS Discussion and Approval of Seasonal Population Estimate: Town Planner Evan Lehrer: Evan Lehrer, Town Planner was in attendance to review and recommend the Summer Population projections for July 10, 2020 with the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Lehrer indicated during the peak of the summer season, the estimated population is 35,736 persons in the Town of Mashpee. Mr. Lehrer disclosed that an error was detected in calculating the total number of total occupied summer housing units in 2019. The error resulted in the estimate for occupants of seasonal dwelling as approximately 281 persons less than it should have been. Last year's estimate of 35,378 should have been more accurately represented at a value of 35,590. The estimated population of 35,736 persons in Mashpee on July 10, 2020 is a marginal increase of approximately 146 persons. Motion made by Selectman Sherman to Estimate the Summer Population of 35,736 persons on July 10, 2020, the peak of the summer season as recommended. Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Finance Committee members in attendance: Mike Richardson, Jeffrey Pettengill, Gregory McKelvey, Phil McCahill, Darlene Furbush, John Miller. Finance Committee Chairman Richardson called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. The following action was taken on Draft#1 of the warrants; Discussion and Approval of Inclusion of Articles on the May 4 2020 Town Meeting Warrant: The Board of Selectmen reviewed each article and took action on the inclusion of articles for the May 4, 2020 Special and Annual Town Meetings.
