7 Board of Selectmen Minutes March 2, 2020 APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS Public Hearing_Application for a New Annual All Alcoholic Beverages Restaurant License: Magni Inc Jan Aggerbeck Manager, Premises Located at 10 Evergreen Circle, Mashpee: Acting as the Licensing Authority for the Town of Mashpee, the Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing on the Application of Magni Inc., Jan Aggerbeck, Manager for a New Annual All Alcoholic Beverages Restaurant License at 10 Evergreen Circle, Mashpee. The premise is described as a one story small caf6 with indoor and outdoor seating totaling 2,400 sq. ft., one entrance and three exits. In accordance with posting procedures,the Public Hearing notice was read aloud into the record. Mr. Jan Aggerbeck was in attendance to review the license request with the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Aggerbeck indicated he plans to open a new caf6 at the coffee roasting facility at the end of May, a local gathering place serving coffee, baked goods, and pizza in small indoor and outdoor setting. The outdoor area would be fenced for control of the area. Mr. Aggerbeck conveyed he would like the opportunity to serve adult beverages for the benefit of his customers. There was no public comment regarding this application. Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to close the Public Hearing. Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none Presentation of Fiscal Year 2021 Cape Cod Technical High School Budget: Superintendent Robert Sanborn: The Board of Selectmen met with Cape Cod Technical High School Superintendent Robert Sanborn to review the FY21 operating budget. Mr. Sanborn acknowledged Mashpee representatives Scott McGee and David Bloomfield as well as Dawn Thayer, representative to the School Building Committee. Of the 616 students enrolled for Fiscal Year 2021, Mashpee has 48 students attending. This represents 8% of the total enrollment with the increase of 3 students from last fiscal year. In reviewing the enrollment trend; 59 Mashpee students attended the technical school in FYI 7. Enrollment has decreased by 11 students in FY21. Although there is a general decline in enrollment, the attributes of a new school building may represent an increase in admissions. Mr. Sanborn indicated the regression is most likely due to demographics and the need to have a younger influx of residents on the Cape. The school has taken steps to revamp the guidance department to primarily focus on enrollment and the tour schedule has been renewed in an effort to attract more students.
