10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 18, 2020 <br /> Financial Update and Review: Town Manager Rodney Collins and the Finance Team: (continued) <br /> The Board of Selectmen tools the initiative to be proactive and it was agreed the Financial Team would <br /> provide options for reductions based on the Town Manager's recommendation to be decided upon by the <br /> Board of Selectmen for adoption. <br /> In closing Mrs. Thayer indicated the tax rate would not be set until November so there is ample time to <br /> review the budget and funds available for appropriation. <br /> Discussion and Approval of Proposed Revised Short Term Rental Registration Fees: Glen Harrington: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed communication received from Glen Harrington; Board of Health Agent <br /> dated May 14, 2020 relative to the Short-Term Rental Registration Fees. After consulting Town Counsel <br /> the following fee schedule was considered; <br /> Fee Categories: <br /> Registration/Rental Certificate Issuance $25 per rental property <br /> Inspections $75 per dwelling unit <br /> As directed by the Board of Selectmen, the multiple unit properties would be inspected at 1/3rd of the <br /> properties each year with all units to be inspected over a 3-year period. It was recommended the Town <br /> Bylaw be revised in October to be consistent with this practice. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to replace the Fee Schedule adopted at the prior Board of <br /> Selectmen's meeting, and adopt the revised Short Term Registration Fees; $25 per rental property <br /> and $75 per dwelling unit with the directive for inspections as outlined. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectmen Weeden. <br /> VOTE: 4-0-1. There was no action required; the matter <br /> was taken under advisement at this time. <br />
