107
In my opinion Mashpee is fortunate in having a dedicated
and understanding faculty. In many cases teachers have
worked under difficult circumstances. Their primary aim has
been to give your children the educational opportunities that
will assist them in later years.
We regret that it became necessary for Mrs. Elise T.
West to request a leave of absence early in December. We
sincerly hope that her health may improve and that she may
gal return to us next fall.
Mr. George Green is to be commended for his care of
our school. Cleanliness has been his goal and we are apprecia-
tive of his efforts.
,ce
ur Our present high school enrollment :totals 18. Present
of j figures indicate that we shall increase this number by 11 in
rer September, 1961. Increased costs in the 1961 budget are largely
we
due to the added tuition costs, one more teacher, and some
U increased operating costs because of the new school wing.
biy The Superintendent wishes to express his thanks to the
Selectmen for making the Town Hall facilities available to
ss_ the School Committee for classes and for their understanding
ew of our school proiblems, and to Mr. Coombs and his faculty
for their dedication and help during the past year.
to
0
01 Respectfully submitted,
Iwo WILFRED H. GRAVES
Superintendent of Schools
ing
to
for
our
)me
;iris
of
;hat
am.
erly
