55 Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to raise and, ap- propriate the sum of $4,800.00 for the salary of a full time Chief of Police, or take any other action thereon. Action: Amended to read $4,400.00. Voted 48 for, 0 op- posed. Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate or transfer from unappropriated available funds in the treasury, a sum of money to purchase by bid, a new 1961 Police Cruiser when available. Present Cruiser now in use to be traded towards purchase of new cruiser, or take any action in relation thereto. Action: Amended to read: To appropriate from avail- able funds in the treasury the sum of $2,000.00 to be expended in the purchase of a 1961 Police Cruiser, when available; the present crusier to be traded in toward the new crusier, equip- ment to be transferred from the present cruiser to the new cruiser. Action: Vote 49 for, 0 opposed. Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of $2,900.00 to meet the Town's share of the cost of Chapter 81 highway and in addition, to transfer from unappropriated available funds in the treasury the sum of $7,975.00 to meet the state's share of the cost of the work, this amount when reimbursed to be returned to surplus revenue or take any other action thereon. Action: Accepted as read. Voted 39 for, 0 opposed Article 22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of $4,000.00 to be expended in conjunction With highway construction under Chapter 90 representing the Town's share and to transfer from available funds in the treasury the sum of $12,000.00 representing the State and County share, this amount when reimbursed to be returned to surplus revenue or take any other action thereon. Action: Amended to read: $3,500..00 and $10,500.00. A unanimous vote.
