72 <br />Inland waters Safety Committee of not less than four or more <br />than six persons with the authority to study the needs for, <br />and to prepare rules and regulations affective by May 31, <br />1961, pertaining to the speed of, prohibited areas, non -re- <br />stricted areas and lights upon outboard motor boats and <br />inboard motor boats upon the waters that are used jointly <br />by fishermen, bathers, boaters, water skiers and skin divers <br />(SCUBA). Said rules and regulations being designed to pro- <br />tect persons and property, and to promote safety upon the <br />inland waters in the Town at all times of day and night, for <br />the mutual interest, protection and benefit of all users. Voted <br />unanimously. <br />Article 47. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate <br />$50.00 to be used by the Inland Waters Safety Committee <br />for printing. <br />Action: Article accepted as read. Voted unanimously. <br />Article 48. To see if the Town will vote to adopt the <br />following Zoning By -Laws for the Town of Mashpee, or <br />take any other action thereon. <br />CHAPTER III - ARTICLE II <br />ZONING BY-LAWS <br />Town of Mashpee <br />Massachusetts <br />A. PURPOSE <br />1. The purpose of these by-laws is to promote the health, safety, and <br />general welfare of the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee, to protect <br />and conserve the value of property within the town, to increase the amen- <br />ities of the town, and to secure safety from fire, congestion or confusion, <br />all in accord with the General Laws, Chapter 40A, Sections one (1) to <br />twenty-two (22), inclusive, as amended. <br />B. ESTABLISHMENT OF DISTRICTS <br />1. The Town of Mashpee is hereby divided as shown on the Map <br />entitled "Zoning Map, Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts", dated November <br />3, 1959, and filed with the Town Clerk, into the following districts: R-75 <br />Residence District, R-100 Residence District, R-150 Residence District, <br />Business District, Marine Area District, and Industrial District. Said <br />map, and such amendments to it as shall be duly enacted, shall be con- <br />sidered an integral part of this By-law. Boundaries of zoning districts <br />shown on said map shall be assumed to be accurate. <br />2. Lots in Two Districts—Where a District boundary line divides <br />any lot existing at the time such line is adopted, the regulations for the <br />less restricted portion of such lot shall extend not more than thirty feet <br />into the more restricted portion, provided the lot has street frontage in <br />the less restricted area. <br />
