71 <br />than the next annual Town Meeting and to raise and ap- <br />propriate the sum of $500.00 to defray the cost of preliminary <br />plans and other committee expenses. Voted unanimously. <br />Article 43. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br />the sum of $265.00 to defray the cost of altering the cafeteria <br />section of the Samuel G. Davis School for the temporary <br />use of the Library or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Article accepted as read. Voted unanimously. <br />Article 44. To see if the Town will vote to accept Chapter <br />647, Acts, 1960, an act increasing the amounts of pensions <br />and retirement allowances payable to certain former public <br />employees, or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Article accepted as read. Voted 47 for, 0 opposed. <br />Article 45. To see if the Town will vote to make the <br />following awards from available funds for land damages, or <br />take any other action thereon: <br />Marion H. Collins $1,400.00 <br />Play -Ball Sales, Inc. 1,000.00 <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to see if the Town <br />will vote to make the following awards from available funds <br />for land damages: <br />Marion H. To see if the Town will instruct the Select- <br />men to appoint an Inlandwaters Safety Committee of not less <br />than four or more than six persons to study the needs for, <br />and to prepare rules and regulations effective by May 31, <br />1961, pertaining to the speed of, prohibited areas, non- <br />restricted areas and lights upon outboard motor boats and <br />inboard motor boats upon the waters that are used jointly <br />by fishermen, bathers, boaters, water skiers and skin divers <br />(SCUBA). Said rules and regulations being designed to protect <br />persons and property, and to promote safety upon the inland <br />waters in the town at all times of day and night, for the <br />mutual interest, protection and benefit of all users. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to be amended to <br />see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to appoint and <br />
