29
Report of the Board of Health
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen
and Citizens of the Town of Mashpee
The Board of Health hereby submits their report for the
year nineteen-hundred-sixty-two(1962). This year represents
our third year of operation. Since the establishment of this
board, the members have endeavored to officiate to their
fullest capacity. The Board met weekly, and was available
several nights other than the set hours of operation; often
attending other departmental meetings, hearings and dis-
cussions.
Inspections were made throughout the Town for build-
ings, cesspools, restaurants, motels, camps and other es-
tablishments. Permits were granted with the accordance of
the Sanitary Code .and the General Laws. All funds received
were duly noted, submitted to the Treasurer and the receipts
were placed on file.
Due to the increase of building, calls received, the mem-
bers were required to do extensive travel within and out of
town. Also, due to the increase developments in town much
more may be .accomplished if the people desiring permits,
information or requirements would meet with the Board
during regular hours.
Again, the dump area off Ashers Path is the only es-
tablished dumping area within the town, where a -custodian
was on duty (on a working basis) for the Summer months
and weekends during the Winter months. The dump was
cleaned, cleared, and bulldozed at frequent intervals.
The nurse served the town for the year by conducting
clinics, examinations, house calls, and assistance to dental
care. Complete details are in the Nurse's report.
