40 <br />Report of the <br />Library Building Needs Committee <br />To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and <br />the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee <br />The Library Building Needs Committee was established <br />under Article 42, of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant of <br />March 6, 1961. <br />The Committee's activities were continued by Article 46, <br />of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant of March 5, 1962. <br />The Town voted to accept a plan by Architect Ernest A. <br />Sterling, A.I.A. and raise and appropriate the sum of <br />$21,300.00, at the Annual Town Meeting of March 4, 1963, <br />under Article 33. <br />The Town also voted to continue the activities of the <br />same Committee under Article 4, of the Annual Town Meet- <br />ing of March 2, 1964. <br />The Town also voted unanimously, under Article 3, of the <br />Special Town Meeting Warrant of October 6, 1964, to accept <br />the original plan dated December 15, 1962, of Architect Er- <br />nest A. Sterling, A.I.A. as originally presented at the Annual <br />Town Meeting of March 4, 1963. <br />The Committee has held numerous meetings since its in- <br />ception in 1961. Presently, the same plans, with minor chan- <br />ges, as first presented to the Town are being worked on. <br />The Architect has met with the Committee and the Plan- <br />ning Board, on numerous occasions, and has offered many <br />helpful suggestions. <br />The Committee has also met with our Finance Com- <br />mittee and conferred with the Mashpee Advisory Board for <br />advice on the method to raise funds to finance the construc- <br />tion of the building. <br />
