40 Report of the Library Building Needs Committee To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee The Library Building Needs Committee was established under Article 42, of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant of March 6, 1961. The Committee's activities were continued by Article 46, of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant of March 5, 1962. The Town voted to accept a plan by Architect Ernest A. Sterling, A.I.A. and raise and appropriate the sum of $21,300.00, at the Annual Town Meeting of March 4, 1963, under Article 33. The Town also voted to continue the activities of the same Committee under Article 4, of the Annual Town Meet- ing of March 2, 1964. The Town also voted unanimously, under Article 3, of the Special Town Meeting Warrant of October 6, 1964, to accept the original plan dated December 15, 1962, of Architect Er- nest A. Sterling, A.I.A. as originally presented at the Annual Town Meeting of March 4, 1963. The Committee has held numerous meetings since its in- ception in 1961. Presently, the same plans, with minor chan- ges, as first presented to the Town are being worked on. The Architect has met with the Committee and the Plan- ning Board, on numerous occasions, and has offered many helpful suggestions. The Committee has also met with our Finance Com- mittee and conferred with the Mashpee Advisory Board for advice on the method to raise funds to finance the construc- tion of the building.
