76 Clerk, by creating a business zone on both sides of Old Barnstable Road, starting at Jane Amos Road, running west- erly for one thousand (1,000) feet in length and one thousand (1,000) feet in depth, or take any other action thereon. Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as read. Voted 35 for, none opposed. Article 42. To see if the Town will adopt the following By -Laws as authorized under Chapter 40, Section 21, Sub- section 1, of the General Laws: "It shall be unlawful for any person who has not at- tained the age of twenty-one years to consume or have in his or her possession alcoholic beverages in public places within the Town of Mashpee. Who- ever violates the provisions of this law shall be fined in an amount not exceeding twenty dollars for each offense;" or take any other action thereon. Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as read. Voted 39 for, none opposed. Article 43. To see if the Town; will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $300.00 for expenses to have the Police Department conduct a State census of the Town as will be required by the State January 1, 1965, or take any other action thereon. Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as read. Voted unanimously. Article 44. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $300.00 to establish the salary of the gas inspector, retroactive to January 1, 1964, or take any other 'action thereon. Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as read. Voted unanimously. Article 45. To see if the Town will vote to accept Chap- ter 41, Section 24, as amended by Section 24-A. This applies to any assessor of any town who has served not less than ten years, and shall hold office during good behavior until he has attained or reached the age of seventy.
