76 <br />Clerk, by creating a business zone on both sides of Old <br />Barnstable Road, starting at Jane Amos Road, running west- <br />erly for one thousand (1,000) feet in length and one thousand <br />(1,000) feet in depth, or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as <br />read. Voted 35 for, none opposed. <br />Article 42. To see if the Town will adopt the following <br />By -Laws as authorized under Chapter 40, Section 21, Sub- <br />section 1, of the General Laws: <br />"It shall be unlawful for any person who has not at- <br />tained the age of twenty-one years to consume or <br />have in his or her possession alcoholic beverages in <br />public places within the Town of Mashpee. Who- <br />ever violates the provisions of this law shall be fined <br />in an amount not exceeding twenty dollars for each <br />offense;" or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as <br />read. Voted 39 for, none opposed. <br />Article 43. To see if the Town; will vote to raise and <br />appropriate the sum of $300.00 for expenses to have the <br />Police Department conduct a State census of the Town as <br />will be required by the State January 1, 1965, or take any <br />other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as <br />read. Voted unanimously. <br />Article 44. To see if the Town will vote to raise and <br />appropriate the sum of $300.00 to establish the salary of <br />the gas inspector, retroactive to January 1, 1964, or take <br />any other 'action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as <br />read. Voted unanimously. <br />Article 45. To see if the Town will vote to accept Chap- <br />ter 41, Section 24, as amended by Section 24-A. This applies <br />to any assessor of any town who has served not less than ten <br />years, and shall hold office during good behavior until he <br />has attained or reached the age of seventy. <br />
