The same we owe <br />to Christine Labute and Katherine Mederios as talented <br />cheer leaders. <br />Other honors go to Eugene Martini, now attending the <br />Hyannis Community College, Paul Mills who entered South- <br />eastern Institute of Technology, in September, Bonnie L, <br />Frye who is studying Beauty Culture and to the winner of <br />the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute Scholarship, Leon <br />L. Turner. This award is awarded annually to an outstanding <br />student of the school. Selection of the recipient is made en- <br />tirely by the school's faculty. The only stipulations made by <br />the Institution are that the student be planning a career in <br />either science or engineering and must maintain acceptable <br />grades in college work. Leon was a member of the school's <br />track team. He also played basketball and baseball. He is <br />now enrolled at Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, <br />New York undertaking general engineering courses with selec- <br />tion of a more specific field to be made later. <br />In November, Mrs. Doris Blackmer received certification <br />from the Department of Education, Special Education, as a <br />certified remedial adjustment teacher. <br />During the past year seventy-five per cent of our teach- <br />ers have enrolled in advanced educational courses at nearby <br />colleges. <br />I am especially grateful to Mr. Campbell, our superin- <br />tendent, for his leadership, to our faculty, Mrs. Carol Mc- <br />Lane, R.N., our Town nurse, our custodial staff and cafeteria <br />personnel for their untiring efforts and accomplishments. <br />In closing, I wish to thank the Mashpee School Commit <br />tee, as well as parents, for their understanding and continued <br />support of our school program. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />KENNETH C.
