The facilities in the Otis Junior High School are par excellent and the Mashpee pupils bene- fit more and more with each new day in being exposed to a good sound educational program, under the guidance of teachers who care. High School Program: The Mashpee High School pupils continue to do well at Falmouth High School and are to be commended for their determination to acquire knowledge at an outstanding edu- cational center. We "tip our hats" to Mr. Harry Merson, Superintendent of Schools, the Falmouth School Committee, Principal Russell Marshall and the teachers for doing so much to help Mashpee pupils. Barnstable Vocational High School: Mashpee boys continue to avail themselves to the educa- tional opportunities offered at the Barnstable Vocational High School. We are proud of their accomplishments. The ac- complishments are made possible under the able direction of Mr. Victor E. Mazzarella, Director and his staff. Kindergarten: A progressive step was initiated by the Mashpee School Committee in the establishment of a public Kindergarten in the Samuel G. Davis School, September, 1966. Mrs. Elizabeth Burke, a resident of Forrestdale with Kindergarten experi- ence was hired as Kindergarten teacher. School Personnel: Mr. James Gregg, supervisor of music left the Mashpee School System at the close of the school year in 1966 to super- vise a full music program in the Sandwich Public Schools. Mr. Gregg was very well liked by the school children, adminis- tration and teachers of the Samuel G. Davis School. He will long be remembered for the interest he created in music and the excellent manner in which he carried out his duties. The Superintendent of Schools was very fortunate in ac- quiring the services of a well known instructor of music, namely, Mrs. Thelma Ostenfelt. Mrs. Ostenfelt began her duties in September, 1966 and her work is outstanding.
