Billboards, as defined herein. <br /> 7. Off-premises signs, in other than Business or Light <br /> Industrial Districts, except as authorized by the Board of <br /> Appeals in accordance with the provisions of Section 27-i. <br /> No off-premises sign shall be permitted which would be in <br /> violation of Sections 29-33 of Chapter 93 of the General <br /> Laws. <br /> 8. Private signs on Town property, unless a permit for <br /> such a sign is 'authorized by the Board of Selectmen. No <br /> such authorization shall be given until after a duly adver- <br /> tised public hearing; -any such signs shall conform in all <br /> respects to all other provisions of this section. Permits for <br /> such signs may be revoked at any time by the Board of <br /> Selectmen. <br /> E. Non-Conforming Signs <br /> Signs which, at the time of the effective date of this <br /> Article, .had been previously legally erected, but which ex- <br /> ceed the maximum area provisions of this section, may be <br /> Permitted for the life of such signs, however, signs which <br /> are in violation of the prohibitions in paragraph D of this <br /> section shall be modified so as to terminate such violation <br /> within one year from such effective date. <br /> F. Size, Number and Location of Signs <br /> 1. In a Marine, Business or Light Industrial District, <br /> each place of business may be issued a permit for a sign, or <br /> signs as follows: <br /> a) One or more wall signs for each wall fronting .an a <br /> street or parking area, the total area of such signs <br /> not to exceed 109 of the pertinent wall area, including <br /> doors and windows therein.
