123
Especially are we indebted to Col. Eugene S. Clark of
Sandwich, Marine Biologist, for his.weekly lectures to the
Kindergarten and grades three and four on "Shore Life of
Cape Cod", and "The Eskimos of Labrador".
Another "Field Day" was enjoyed by all grades, followed
by award day, and presentation of the Samuel G. Davis
Awards.
Open House was highly successful in October with a large
attendance of parents and friends.
A Christmas Program involving over half the school de-
lighted a full audience during Christmas week. The Christ-
mas party and Dance sponsored by the P.T.A. was most suc-
cessful.
We look forward to this type of opportunity to confer
with you and help to cement the close relationship so neces-
sary between the home and the school.
Field trips were numerous during the Fall and Spring,
with visits to the Colonial Candle Factory, and the Cape Cod
Standard Times. To a large dairy in Rochester, the Boston
Science Museum, National Seashore Park, and Plymouth
Plantation. They added much to our educational program.
Recent reports from the principals of Lyle Junior High
School and Falmouth High School, indicate our pupils are
doing commendable work in the classroom and in extra cur-
ricula activities. Some have been outstanding and have
brought honors to our community. Many more high school
graduates are showing interest and are attending institutions
of higher learning. We must commend the Mashpee P.T.A.,
and the New Seabury Mens Luncheon Club, for making schol-
arships available to these worthy students.
Mashpee P.T.A.
The P.T.A. grows stronger and more meaningful in the
life of our school under the capable and inspiring leadership
of its president Mrs. Priscilla Rollins. The membership has
increased. In every way the P.T.A. has been a vital coordin-
ating link between parents and the school.
Programs that were outstanding:
1. Annual P.T.A. Supper that raised enough funds to
support a P.T.A.
b. To sponsor a class trip for two grades to the Sci-
ence Museum in Boston.
I
lC;
