124
c. To support the Saturday morning Story Hour at
the Public Library.
2. Christmas Square Dance for grades K-6.
i' 3. Instrumental Music classes.
4. Scholarship to a High School Graduate.
Kindergarten:
The kindergarten program is completing its fourth year,
under the exceptional guidance of Mrs. Elizabeth Burke.
Each graduate completes training in working and playing to-
gether, realizes the values of sharing, cooperation, and the
need for play. He has experience with numbers, different
media of work and completes a pre-readiness reading pro-
gram. He then looks anxiously forward, and is richly pre-
pared to enter grade 1.
Again, the school department is deeply indebted to the
trustees of the library for making it possible to have this
valuable program, by making available the very suitable
basement of the public library to the school department.
We are living in a world of unrest, a world of change.
Throughout our land, across the world there is no peace. We
are fortunate to live and dwell in a corner unspoiled by the
rigors of time. However, we too are no longer immune to the
change of time. Many of the families who have come to live
with us have brought new ideas, ideals, new concepts, a vari-
ety of backgrounds and experiences; molded together to our
hopes, ambitions and dreams. We together, can make our
community lovelier, richer, more beautiful in every way.
In closing, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to
you, the School Committee, our devoted teaching personnel,
our school nurse, the cafeteria, and custodial staff, parents,
and to all with whom I work, for your continued support and
understanding.
Respectfully submitted,
KENNETH C. COOMBS,
Principal
'i I,
