21
Report of the Highway Surveyor
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen, Citizens,
and Taxpayers of the Town of Mashpee
Having been appointed to the Highway Department in
September 1971 it is impossible to give a full report. There-
fore I can only report on the last four months.
Most of this time was spent reorganizing, reorientating,
resupplying, and repairing equipment which unfortunately
was in deplorable condition.
At present all equipment is in operating condition, all
records and reports to the Board of Selectmen and the Per-
sonnel Board are up to date. All records and accounts have
been balanced and brought up to date for the Finance Com-
mittee. All mispurchased or misordered goods have been
returned to their respective companies for credit or reim-
bursement. The Department is in good condition to start the
new year, 1972.
The Department would like at this time to express its
thanks to Mr. Sherman and Mr. Mouse of the Middleboro
Office of the Department of Public Works, Mr. Clarence Van
Buskirk, Highway Surveyor for the Town of Sandwich, Mr.
Louis Pellegrini, Highway Surveyor for the Town of Bourne,
and Mr. Edwin L. White, past Highway Surveyor for the
Town of Mashpee for their kind and thoughtful assistance;
they have been a great asset.
Respectfully submitted,
GEORGE F. GREEN,
Highway Surveyor
I
