30
nel, the present one consisting only of a 3 sectional coop
with a runway for each section. This kennel can present a
vicious problem when more than 6 dogs at a time are con-
fined.
A Rabies Clinic was held on May 8th at the Town Hall.
62 dogs were inoculated and the Town Clerk collected $87.00
at the clinic in license fees. Rabies shots for dogs is a state
law and next year all dog owners will be required to show
proof of a rabies shot before licenses can be issued. Another
rabies clinic will be held in April, hopefully on two separate
days this year.
Persons applying for Kennel licenses must have an in-
spected and approved kennel before being issued one.
A small snowmobile trailer was purchased to carry the
large dog trap used for transporting dogs as well as trapping
them. Also 3 sets of stainless steel feed and water dishes
which can be attached to the sides of the wire runways to
prevent spillage and destruction were purchased.
I wish to thank the Selectmen for their cooperation and
advice given me and a very special thank you to Police Chief
Bingham and all his men for the much help and coopera-
tion they have given me.
Respectfully submitted,
ELEANOR F. STURGIS
Dog Officer
